TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. Definitions

"Bike Box Sussex", "we", "us", or "our" refers to Bike Box Sussex, based in Hove, Sussex. "You" or "the hirer" refers to the person hiring the bike box. "Equipment" refers to the Bike Box Alan travel case and any included accessories.

2. Booking & Payment

  • All bookings are subject to availability.
  • The minimum hire period is 3 days. Pricing is £12 per day or £70 per week, whichever is cheaper for your booking.
  • A security deposit of £150 is required at the time of booking. This will be refunded upon return of the equipment in good condition.
  • Full payment of the rental fee is required to confirm your booking.

3. Collection & Return

  • Collection is from our Hove location. The collection date is the day before your rental period starts.
  • Delivery within Sussex may be available for an additional charge — please enquire.
  • The equipment must be returned on the agreed date. Late returns may incur additional daily charges at the standard rate.
  • The equipment must be returned clean and in the same condition as collected.

4. Cancellation & Refunds

  • 30+ days before collection: Full refund of rental fee.
  • 14–30 days before collection: 20% refund of rental fee.
  • Less than 14 days before collection: No refund.
  • The security deposit is always refundable subject to inspection.

5. Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the equipment from the time of collection until it is returned to us.
  • You must use the equipment only for its intended purpose — transporting bicycles.
  • You must not sub-let, loan, or otherwise allow third parties to use the equipment without our written consent.
  • You must report any damage, loss, or theft to us immediately.

6. Damage & Loss

  • You are liable for any damage to the equipment beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Damage charges of up to £250 may be deducted from or charged in addition to your security deposit.
  • In the event of loss or irreparable damage, you will be charged the full replacement cost of the equipment.

7. Insurance

Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance to cover loss or damage to your bicycle and equipment during transit. Bike Box Sussex accepts no liability for loss or damage to your bicycle or personal belongings while using the equipment.

8. Limitation of Liability

Bike Box Sussex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the equipment, including but not limited to missed flights, travel delays, or damage to your bicycle. Our total liability is limited to the rental fee paid.

9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
